Configuration instructions

NOTE: Faxing over this device is not supported.  The same rules apply to this device as to any other device that Fonality supports, faxing over SIP is not recommended or supported.

  1. Open your browser and enter the IP address of the Vega in the address bar.
    Note: If your network provides DHCP services, the Vega will get an IP address from it.  You should use the DHCP server’s tools to find that address, or use a network IP address scan tool.
    Enter the default username and password: admin/adminlogin.jpg
     
  2. Click on “Quick Config” in the left hand navigation bar.Quick Config.jpg
     
  3. Click the VoIP tab and configure the “VoIP Routing Mode” to “Send calls via a VoIP Service Provider/Proxy.” Under “VoIP Device Configuration” set the Proxy domain name, Proxy address, Registrar address, and Outbound proxy address to the FQDN of your Fonality server, i.e. s00000.pbxtra.fonality.com. The “Registraion Mode” should be set to FXS port.  Click the “Submit” button at the top when done.

  4. Click the FXS tab and configure each interface you want enabled.  You must have a softphone extension for each FXS port you wish to use, and you should have your SIP username and password handy to enter here.  Set the “Registration and Authentication ID” to “Specified” The following example shows 1 FXS port enabled. When done click the Submit button at the topFXS configuration.jpg

  5. Your setup is now complete.  You should start to see the FXS start to register with your server shortly.  In some cases it is necessary to reboot the Vega to continue.  Make sure you have saved all of your changes, then click “Reboot System” on the left side navigation bar.
  6. You can tell if your FXS ports are registered either by clicking the Status link in the navigation bar on the Vega control panel, or by accessing your Fonality server at http://cp.fonality.com
