On networks with a Windows Domain Controller or other DHCP server that supports this feature, we recommend configuring DHCP Option 066 (under "DHCP Options": "Scope Options") to tell the phones to load configurations from the IP address of the PBX. This avoids the need to configure each phone individually.
ftp://PlcmSpIp:PlcmSpIp@serverip
(PlcmSpIp/PlcmSpIp is the Polycom factory-default username & password recognized by the local PBX only)
If theyour phone network is remote from the PBX (including Connect and Enterprise dedicated hosted), one can also, you may also be able to use ftp.pbxtra.com - however, the listed administrative contact for the PBX will need to contact Support for the FTP username/password to use. The DHCP Option-066 format is then:
ftp://Username:Password@ftp.pbxtra.com
In the absence of a DHCP server supporting DHCP-Option 66, or if just a few phones need to be updated, one can also set the boot server individually on the phone.
